"Opening the set with the slamming inquiry of Are You Here?, Avakian and his band sent the room spinning with a truly intriguing performance. Unveiling the entire Intensity EP, each and every song was brought to an ultra-vivid life, highlighted by Shaunt’s dynamic vocal delivery and his dazzling lead guitar skills. Love To Love You was especially compelling when presented live, with Shaunt singing the blues with a high flying amount of style, emotion and conviction."

"There seems to be a temporal wave crashing onto the edges of our epoch. An accumulation of past genres mixing into melted pools of residual rhythms. Melted pools that young musicians, like Shaunt Avakian, will invite us into. We should be grateful for these new seas."

Interview with pauline pechakjian | July 3rd, 2018

"My personal favorites on the EP are “Hard To Focus” and “Rats In The Attic,” arguably the most intense of songs on Intensity. The former starts off with a killer guitar intro, then leads into a wonderful punk number with a frighteningly catchy chorus. The latter kicks off with a fun drum groove and features Avakian’s boldest vocals and lyrics (which work really well!). “Rats In The Attic,” which ties together the concept of the EP as Avakian sings, “how else can I justify this intensity?,” can easily serve as a new anthem for misfits."
